Aspen Ladd's fight sport experience began when she was 14 years old. In addition to BJJ training as well, she was also trained in boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. When she was 18, she made her amateur debut at WCFC. Ladd went on an impressive 3-fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. In each of the three bouts she beat her opponent in the very first round. Aspen returned to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous verdict. Aspen won over Silvia B beghian and Maddy Simmons prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia defeated Aspen by unanimous decision. It left a blemish on the record of Ladd's amateur. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff, and increased her amateur record to 8-1. Aspen started her professional career in 2015after signing with Invicta FC for her professional debut.
